Cranberry White Chocolate Bars {Guest Post}

Hello fellow blog friends I have a special guest taking over ABpetite today that you are just going to adore! I can not wait for you to check out her blog it is mouth watering! She is an amazing photographer you will want to try ALL of her recipes!! Here she is folks :)

Hello there everyone! My name is Michelle, and I am the girl behindThe Healthy Bites, a food blog that focuses on great food that is also great for you! I am so excited to be guest posting on this lovely blog! As someone who is dedicated to serving healthy food and keeping up an active, positive lifestyle, ABpetite is such an inspiration. I knew that whatever I made better be downright sinfully good-- and these Cranberry White Chocolate cake squares are just that! Sweet white chocolate chips and slightly tart cranberries are folded into a delectable batter packed with the warming flavors of cinnamon and orange. Mmmm. These squares are very similar to the bottom layer of the raved about Starbucks Cranberry Bliss Bars-- how can it get better than that?

These bars are so delicious, and taste sinful but truthfully aren't! At only about 150 calories a bar, these make the perfect go-to for a sweet snack attack! Check out the recipe below!

Cranberry White Chocolate Bars
Adapted from Arismenu, which was adapted from RecipeGirl
Serves 9 Calories/serving: 158
1/3c. applesauce
1 large egg, beaten
1/4c. packed brown sugar
1/3c. splenda
1/2tsp vanilla extract
1/4tsp orange extract
1/2c plus 2tbl all purpose flour
1/2c. white whole wheat flour
3/4tsp baking powder
1/4tsp salt
1/4tsp cinnamon
1/4c. dried cranberries
1/3c. white chocolate

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375F. Spray an 8x8 pan with cooking spray.
In a medium bowl, mix the brown sugar, egg, splenda, and extracts.
In a separate bowl, combine flours, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing just until moist. Fold in cranberries and white chocolate. Dough should be sticky.
Place the batter-dough into the middle of the 8x8, and then use wet fingers or a wet spatula to spread it to the edges in an even layer. Bake for 18-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing.

Thank you again Michelle for sharing this specular recipe! I can not wait to bake it this weekend!
