I am super excited to tell you guys about the newest thang on this blog!! I am calling it the Wednesday Pinterest Challenge!! What is it your asking yourself?? Well my good friend Angie showed me this lovely dessert called an "Ice Cream Sandwich Cake" and me being into my healthy eater I am - I automatically thought how could I make this amazing dessert healthier?! Got it! Here are Ms. Jane's yummy(Thy Hand Hath Provided) Ingredients:
24 ice cream sandwiches (Fat Boys)
16 ounces of cool whip
1 jar caramel sundae topping
1 bag of your favorite candy, coarsely chopped (Jane used Reeses peanut butter cups)
Here are my still yummy Ingredients:
24 ice cream sandwiches (weight watchers)
16 ounces cool whip (free)
1 jar caramel sauce (Steel's No sugar added)
1/2 bag dark chocolate chips (mildly sweet)

You ready to see the difference in calories??? Original recipe 682 per serving
Skinnier recipe 388 per serving
(I calculated recipe to serve 12 people)
Not bad eh??

ReplyDeleteI made this over the weekend for my mama's bday. It was nice to have dessert and not have to worry that I was using all my extra points. My family doesnt like healthy food lol, but they had no idea thanks chica!
ReplyDeleteAwesome girly!! I am so glad I could help! I do this all the time if you don't tell they usually won't even know! I made some twice baked potatoes for father's day for the whole fam used turkey bacon, fat free cream cheese, fat free sour cream, and 2% cheddar cheese. Cut out tones of fat and no one said anything but wonderful things about it! Love that. Thanks for the input!! xoxo
